Openness Factor
The Openness factor is a guide to help screen shade users select the appropriate amount of light shining through the shade, and the clarity of view possible with each screen fabric. Since appropriateness is subjective, selecting the right fabric is a mix of art and science. The smaller the openness factor- the less light and view will be possible. Conversely, higher openness factors will let in more light and offer a better view. Choosing the most effective combination of light and view is affected by other elements in the room. For example, if one is working at a computer, is the screen facing a window or facing away from the window? Is it summer or winter? Because there are many variables when it comes to selecting the perfect fabric, and because we have years of experience helping clients cover their windows, we can often guide the user in making the right choice. However, we cannot guarantee the end result will be perfect in all situations.
